Going to Copenhagen? These Are the Spots I Frequent as a Local
Vintage shops, hidden-gems, and local haunts that define Copenhagen's charm

I have been meaning to share a travel guide to Copenhagen for a minute. As someone local to the city, I’ve noticed a steep spike in tourism here in the years following the lockdown. I’ve also seen how TikTok guides built around the same handful of places and aesthetics–like ‘Euro Summer’ or ‘Scandi Girl’–have flattened Copenhagen into something so polished and predictable.
My intention here isn’t to slam other content creators. I just think that spending your vacation chasing after viral recs and Instagram backdrops cheats you out of a real connection to a place. After all, the soul of a place rarely lies where the crowds are thickest.
So today, I’m sharing my favorite and most-visited places in Copenhagen—an antidote, I hope, to the overexposed version. More specifically, this guide contains an insider’s list of 17 Copenhagen spots worth visiting, including:
An affordable vintage designer shop whose clientele includes Naomi Campbell and Jane Birkin (RIP).
A historic retreat where Copenhageners have been unwinding for nearly a decade.
Locally-loved lunch spots, old haunts, and tucked-away cafés that haven’t been overrun by tourism.
To keep these places local and a little sacred, I’m keeping this guide behind a paywall and offering 20% off annual subscriptions through October 31. :)
Vi ses i København!
